OT: Minimum Wage

This question is for people of all countries as the economies of many countries are all connected in some fashion, but mainly has to do with the American economy. Do you think the American Minimum Wage should be raised beyond the 5.15 limit established? Or do you think that the limit should remain the same, or drop down? What do you recommend for the minimum wage and why?

I'm not sure whether it should stay the same or drop down or be raised (A VERY LITTLE) but I know that it can get very extreme. Lazziez-faire is important. Not that businesses should have no rules or restrictions at all, but they do need some freedom to operate. What happens when some countries start giving them that freedom and others do not? Why, they might start going to those other countries to do their business (have a basis of operations there so they don't have to pay an exhorbitant minimum wage, for example). Then people will complain that the jobs are leaving this country.

I know that in my small mid-western city where living expenses are a bit lower it is impossible to be a single person and pay rent on $5.15 and hour let alone have a car payment or credit card. Someone with a house payment or a family couldn't even consider living off this amount.

I think min. wage is one of those things were you're darned if you do, and darned if you don't things. For people in High School, or Collage just getting their first jobs it's not all that bad. For others, on the other hand, they never got an opportunity to go to collage, of get a good education so they make min. wage. Some just can't help it and can't support themselves on it.
